Nominate a Philanthropist of Santa Maria Valley!

The Annual "Celebrate Philanthropy!" Luncheon will be inaugurated this fall as a community event for the purpose of honoring those whose efforts have made a significant contribution to improving the lives of the people living in the Santa Maria Valley.

As a way to remember and honor these philanthropic activities, a group of similarly interested organizations have come together to establish Celebrate Philanthropy! The Allan Hancock College, Marian Medical Center and Santa Barbara Foundations are collaborating on this event to remember and honor the tremendous accomplishments philanthropy has made in support of the local nonprofit sector.

Do you know an individual, a couple or a family with a proven record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support or service, has demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable work in our community? If so, this is where we need your help. Please share with us what you know about them by making a nomination. From the nominations, the selection committee will choose those to be honored at the luncheon. Nominations will be accepted from May 1 through June 30, 2008.

The "Celebrate Philanthropy!" Luncheon will be held on November 6, 2008, at the Santa Maria Country Club. Please send in those nominations and mark your calendars now!
